The United States Postal Service (USPS) offers various services, and today we will focus on the services providing tracking numbers after sending out. We will classify and share them based on different delivery speeds:
Priority Mail Express:
Arrives in 1-2 days with a time guarantee. If not delivered within 1-2 days, you can request a refund. It can be categorized based on the packaging used:
1.Using your own cardboard box, USPS Priority Mail Express Box, Priority Mail Express Envelope.
2.Priority Mail Express Flat Rate Envelope, Priority Mail Express Flat Rate Box.
Priority Mail:
Arrives in 1-3 days. It can be categorized based on the packaging used:
1.Using your own cardboard box, USPS Priority Mail Box, Priority Mail Envelope.
2.Priority Flat Rate Envelope, Priority Flat Rate Box.
Here's a crucial point to note:
Free packaging materials provided by the post office have slight naming differences. Sometimes, their appearance may seem almost identical, but the printed text on them differs, "Flat Rate box" and “Mailing Box” are different in shipping costs.
For example: You send a 10-pound package from New York to California. If you use a "Priority Flat Rate Box (Medium)," the price is $14.38; however, if you use a "Mailing Box," it's $17.26. Packages labeled "Flat" enjoy the same price for destinations across the United States as long as the weight is below 70 pounds.
However, it doesn't mean that "Flat Rate Box" is always more cost-effective. For instance, if you send a 10-pound package from New York to New Jersey and use a "Priority Flat Box (Medium)," the price remains $14.38, but using a "Mailing Box" costs only $6.77 because "Mailing Box" ‘s billing is based on distance and weight. USPS Ground Advantage:
Takes 2-5 days to arrive. It combines the previous First-Class Mail and Parcel Select Ground services. You must use your own box; USPS boxes cannot be used.
When choosing a service, consider factors such as how soon the recipient needs to receive the package, the distance it needs to travel, the value of the items (consider adding insurance), and the size and weight of the package. Consider these factors to find the most suitable service to have most cost-effective shipping service!
